The scripture says in Luke 9:62. “…No man, having put his hand to the
plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
Jesus was actually talking about distractions that take away our attention
from Him.
In other words, if you begin the work of the kingdom don’t let anything
take your attention, not even words that you hear, neither challenges of
life. Maintain your focus.
The reason why God told the children of Israel that, am taking you to a
land flowing with milk and honey and didn’t tell them about the route, the
Red Sea, etc. in Exodus 3:7-8, He wanted them to focus. And that means
He had already handled every other thing that pertains to their journey.
The issues that may distract you are already catered for by the Lord. Refuse to be distracted, but keep your focus.
Sometimes you listen to the word and you are fired up and focused, but
when you reach home you get distracted by what is around you. Refuse
to set your eyes on that and focus on the Lord and what He has said concerning you.
Some people want to have children, jobs etc. And they focus only on that
every moment of their lives and when they are praying, they are saying;
God give me a child, job, a house etc. only.
The Psalmist said in Psalms 37:4. “Delight thyself also in the LORD;
and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”
Delight in the Lord and all will come beloved.
That is why Mathew 6:33. Says “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and
his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Don’t let anything take your focus away from God, no matter how much
you desire it. And don’t allow the negative words that people speak
against Pastors and church also take your focus away.
Remain focused and finish what God has given you and you will never
lack what you need along the way, He will supply all that you need according to His riches in glory.
May the Lord Bless you as you keep your focus on Him.
